Wild catch from the Ecuadorian Pacific

The cold Humboldt current meets warm tropical water off Manta, which is why Ecuador is one of the world’s great fishing coasts. We buy from vessels and plants there and ship frozen in reefer containers.

Bought on the quay at Manta, not from a catalogue

We buy from vessel owners and processing plants on the Ecuadorian coast and inspect species, size grade and freezing history before we pay.

We follow the lot through processing and stuffing. The health certificate and the catch certificate go out with every shipment.

Fish is unforgiving: what is lost in the first hours cannot be recovered later in the chain. This is the sequence we hold to.

  2. Inspect

Species, size grade, freshness and freezing history checked before payment.

  3. Process and pack

Cut to the agreed presentation, glazed and packed to the buyer’s carton specification.

  4. Certificates

Health certificate and catch certificate issued for the destination market.

  5. Reefer and sail

Container set to temperature and monitored through to the port of discharge.
